DTZ Echinox has been appointed by BelRom Real Estate to handle the property management of Severin Shopping Center and Botosani Shopping Centre. With these two retail projects, DTZ enhances the size of its property management portfolio, adding to the existing major schemes of Suceava Shopping City and Sibiu Shopping City.
“Winning Severin and Botosani Shopping Centres is testament to DTZ’s extensive experience in managing complex retail projects, but it is also a result of the close and successful relationship with the BelRom Group on the leasing segment. We strongly believe that the synergy between brokerage and management is the key to the long term success of any project,” said Yves d’Arfeuille, head of the property management department at DTZ Echinox.
With a total built area of 19,300 sq m, Severin Shopping Centre is anchored by Carrefour hypermarket, Altex and the DIY operator Bricostore. The 7,100 sq m commercial gallery hosts over 17 shops, among which are numerous local and international brands such as New Yorker, Deichmann, Leonardo, House of Art, Orsay, Mondex, Takko and Sensiblu Toyplex. The project was launched by the Bel Rom Real Estate company in September 2010, and is the largest shopping centre in the town of Turnu Severin.
Botosani Shopping Center is also developed by BelRom Real Estate, which is one of the most active retail developers in Romania. The centre has a total area of 22,031 sq m, of which the Carrefour hypermarket occupies approximately 7,000 sq m. The project is scheduled to be delivered in two stages. The first part of the project was launched on 15 November 2011, including the hypermarket and a 5,600 sq m shopping gallery, which is 90% rented. The main anchors of the commercial centre are Domo, New Yorker, Leonardo, Beauty Mania, Toyplex and Orsay. In the second phase, in 2012, the commercial gallery will be extended by 4,000 sq m.
